Mighty-Right Right Angle Impact Driver

Use the Mighty Right to drive or remove sheet metal screws in tight spaces and blind spots encountered when installing metal ductwork and diffuser boxes or while performing maintenance tasks inside furnace jackets or equipment enclosures. The compact right angle design goes wherever  the work is.   An external belt-clip mounted battery pack stays clear of work and won't weigh down or unbalance this one hand operation tool.  A quick-connect 5-foot (1.5 meter) battery cable provides generous reach.

With a fully charged battery, the Mighty Right is capable of delivering 140 in-lbs maximum torque and a no load speed of 1400 rpm.  This powerful little driver quickly seats sheet metal screws in steel up to 16 gauge (1/16" or 1.6 mm).  The drive shaft accepts any 1/4" hex shank bit.  Power bit types and sizes are easily interchanged.

High impact polymer motor housing ensures long service life.

What is the best way to care for Lithium-ion Batteries & the Charger?

The complete temperature range for charging the battery is noted as 32°F to 104°F.  For optimum performance and life, we recommend that you charge the Lithium-ion batteries at room temperature. Lithium-ion batteries can last up to 3 years depending on battery storage and charging.  For best battery life, we recommend consideration of the following:

  • Lithium-ion batteries should be kept cool; they may be stored in a refrigerator
  • The rate of degradation of Lithium-ion batteries is strongly temperature-dependent; they degrade much faster if stored or used at higher temperatures
  • Expect to irreversibly lose 20% of a lithium-ion battery’s charge every year from its original date of manufacture
  • Constantly recharging a lithium ion battery does not shorten the battery life more than normal usage would; avoid letting it sit on empty for too long; instead, keep it fully charged if possible

Is the Charger certified?

Yes, the MR12 One-Hour charger is safety certified under CSA (Canadian Standard Association) number 229889. The CSA certification is equivalent to a UL (Underwriters Laboratory) in the United States.

Do you offer Power Bit replacements?

We offer the bits as replacement parts with two per bag.  The Low Profile 1/4” and 5/16” Hex Bits will be offered as a set and the #1 and #2 Robertson Square Bits will be offered as a set.

What types of drivers can be used in the Mighty-Right?

The Mighty-Right will accept any 1/4” hex drive bit on the market whether they have a power groove or require a magnetic chuck.

What are the advantages of the RPM of the Mighty-Right?

The Mighty-Right is a 7.2 Volt, 1400 rpm hand tool with 140 in-lbs of torque.  In this particular instance the best performance of an impact driver in light gauge steel using zip-in screws has been found to be at 1400 rpm’s with 140 in-lbs of torque.  This level of rpm and torque makes the screws less likely to strip out during installation.

Are there replacement items available?

Yes, we offer the following items:

MR11 battery cable

MR12 charger

MR13 battery pack

MR14 ¼” & 5/16” hex bits

MR15 #1 & #2 Robertson square bits

What is the primary use of the Mighty Right?

This product is designed for a specific application which includes driving and removing sheet metal screws in confined spaces without the need to perform any pre-installation functions. This product will work perfectly when installing or repairing duct work, diffuser boxes, furnace maintenance. Malco’s features truly allow the contractor to complete the application with one-hand.

How does the Mighty Right size compare to other right angle impact drivers?

Malco’s right angle impact driver is the smallest of similar products available in the market today.  Current technology does not allow for the driver to be smaller. The size and design of Malco’s product is the most convenient and the best choice for fitting into the smallest of areas. The compact size allows even the tightest of areas to be worked on.  This tool can be quite the TIME saver as many times when using other drills, an entire piece of equipment would need to be removed to get to the work area.

What are the advantages of having the impact driver separate from the battery?

The Mighty Right is the lightest impact driver in the market. Our unique design of having the battery separate from the drill reduces the weight and provides a well-balanced tool.

Why would I want to choose an Impact Driver?

Impact Drivers are becoming more and more popular and for many good reasons.

An impact driver can be identified by its physical appearance – they have a smaller stubby profile and they have a hex socket in place of a chuck. The impact drill does the work for you; the impact automatically kicks in when it is needed – reducing fatigue on the user. The mechanics of the drill combine a standard rotational force along with sharp jolting blows to drive and loosen screws.  An impact drill contains increased torque – providing double the driving power. An impact drill truly let’s user have better control. The torque is contained and does not transfer to the hands of the operation. You can drive screws tightly while never feeling the force. The impact driver design will result in less stripping of screws and will allow driving of very long screw with minimal effort.

What fasteners should I use with the Mighty Right?

The Mighty Right is designed to work specifically with Malco Zip-In® and Bit-Tip® fasteners; however the driver will work with other fasteners also.

How long will it take to charge the battery?

Approximately 30 minutes to one hour is required for charging the battery fully.

After charging the battery fully, how long will it last before charging is needed again?

The Mighty Right will install approximately 50 to 75 screws before the battery needs charging.
